This was an interesting show to shoot because I showed up unsure if I was going to have a photo pass or not.  I had emailed someone at the venue to request one but never heard a yes or no.  So I showed up, went to security, and asked them if I had one.  About 15 minutes later someone showed up and handed me a pass and said, “First three songs of each band.”

Stupid me left my camera in my car, so I had to go all the way back to where I’d parked to grab it and huff it back to the arena.  Missed at least one, maybe two bands because of it. Lesson learned…

As I got back into the arena, I heard the song “Breakfast” playing and realized Newsboys were performing. I assumed they would be the next to last band, so it freaked me out a bit.

I get my cameras put together and make it down to the photo pit. I have no idea how many songs in they are, so I just jump in and start shooting. First thing I see is Michael Tait (formerly of dc Talk) singing “Jesus Freak” and making his way down the catwalk/runway to do this…

So, needless to say, I’m pretty happy right off the bat.

They close their set, then Tenth Avenue North comes out (which is a relief to me because that means I assumed wrongly about the band order).

Here’s my favorite shot of the night, and possibly to date…

More blurry artsy goodness…

And this is the arena the show was in, St. Pete Times Forum.  It was just $10 at the door for the show, no advance tickets, so it filled up pretty well.

And lastly, Third Day came out to end the evening.

(Mac likes to point)

My favorite part of this one is the two guitarists in the background…

Yay for silhouettes.

And they did an acoustic set out at the end of the runway thingy, which was cool.
